How to Create Compelling Case Studies for Your Website

Compelling Case Studies

Part of creating a great website is including powerful case studies that tell the story of how your product or service has helped people. These case studies are very effective and help to build trust with potential customers and get them excited about the benefits of working with you. A case study can give a potential customer that extra piece of information they need to convince them to become your customer. Here are some tips for how you can create compelling case studies.

1. Focus on the Customer
Rather than promoting yourself, your case study should focus on how a real customer that you have had solved a problem using your product or service. The case study should be a story that has a start, middle, and ending. The story should create visual images in the reader’s mind that allow them to see themselves solving their own problems with your product or service.

2. Creating a Focus for Your Case Study
To find a focus for your case study, think about customers you had who really stand out. Do you have any customers who have used your product or service in a unique way or solved a major problem with them? Finding interesting customers to use will help you to create compelling case studies.

Your case study should illustrate a problem and solution that most of your target audience can relate to.

3. Structuring Your Case Study
You can organize your case study into these three sections:

1. At the beginning of the case study, briefly, introduce the client and their problem.

2. In the next section, talk about the solution, which is your product or service, and how the client used it and benefited from it. You might mention the reason that the client looked for your particular solution. Use quotes from the client to strengthen your points and increase your credibility.

3. In the third section, add data and statistics to back up your information. Show the results of using your product or service. Include a conclusion to close the case study.

4. Using Data to Illustrate Your Points
Use charts or other methods to show the challenges that your client had and how they overcame them. Before-and-after pictures and videos are also great to use as evidence to support your main points and show how your client’s problem was solved using your product or service.
