The Ideal E-Commerce Client
Our ideal web marketing client has an established E-commerce website that sells dozens or hundreds of products with broad appeal and has an average order of $150 or more. We do have a number of clients who sell niche products at low pricepoints, but for the most part, our most successful E-commerce clients have lots of products that result in orders averaging $150+. When we start working with a new client, we're also looking for E-commerce conversion rates to be at least 1%; Preferably higher.

Not always, but for the most part, E-commerce clients with a broad selection of products, a relatively high average order and and a conversion rate of at least 1% produce the best, most profitable web marketing results. If your website fits within this group, the odds of success are greatly stacked in your favor. With that said, you can have an average order of just $50, but have a high conversion rate that still allows you to produce exceptional results with your web marketing campaigns. Our ideal web marketing clients should also have complete access to their website, which enables us or your web developer of choice to integrate tracking codes on all of your web pages and your order confirmation page. This allows us to track the results of our campaigns and accurately measure the results of our work together. If we can't measure things like traffic, sales, orders and conversion rates, we're operating in the dark and you're losing money. We need to track results.

What if I don't have an E-Commerce site?
We have several very successful web marketing clients such as attorneys, doctors, dentists and real estate agents who don't have E-commerce websites. With these clients we can certainly drive a lot of traffic via search engine optimization and pay per click advertising, but at the end of the day it's a lot more difficult to measure actual sales, conversion rates and return on investment. For example, we can tell Dr. Smith that he paid $2000 in advertising costs, which generated 5000 visitors to his website last month, but we can't say for certain how many of those visitors actually became a customer. Furthermore, if someone did come from an ad campaign and did become a customer of Dr. Smith, we really have no idea how much money they spent with the good doctor and how profitable their campaigns were. With E-Commerce websites we can track every sale, we can tell which campaigns generated the sales, and we can tell exactly how profitable the campaigns were. Because of this, we prefer to work with E-commerce clients who can demonstrate a measurable return on investment.

Some of our web marketing clients like to track leads instead of sales, which we can also measure as a type of conversion. We can track the contact us forms and Email inquiries that come from the website to give us a general idea of how effective our advertising campaigns are. Taking matters a step further, the client should be asking every person who calls "How did you hear about us?" This isn't a perfect science, however, because many people won't remember where they came from or don't provide enough details. For example, when you ask a client "How did you hear about us?" they may just say "I found you on the web." This kind of answer is pretty much useless. We need to know specifically which search engine drove the visitor, was it paid or natural search, what keywords did they type in, etc.

We have modest goals. We want to provide great service to our clients at reasonable prices and we want our clients to be satisfied and tell their friends how amazing we are. Unlike some other web marketing firms, we have no plans for world domination. We just want to make an honest and comfortable living that allows us to take a few vacations per year, get some exercise, and spend quality time with our families and friends. Sure, we could save a few bucks--actually a lot of bucks--outsourcing our work to India or something but we don't. All Mission Web Marketing employees are located right here in the good ol' U.S.A. We don't have anything against other countries or companies that outsource to keep their costs down and profits up, but we just prefer to keep jobs and dollars here in the U.S.A. to help the economy in some tiny way. It just feels right.
